  2. Hi Everyone
Andy Patterson (Bike coach) here. I am stoked that you are having heaps of fun learning cycle skills in a fun environment. I got heaps done on the trail today (Wednesday 30th June) and have been altering the lines to make it as fast and flowing as possible with big turns and easy climbing grades.

Just to clarify some points you mentioned on your Blog, IMBA stands for the international Mountain Bicycling Association. They can be found here https://www.imba.com They are an organisation who wrote the guide book on building sustainable trails, that is what us trail builders follow when we build trails to ensure they are environmentally friendly and built to allow flowing riding without causing too much soil erosion. Thats the standard we are building to.

I'm flattered that you have given me the title of Olympic Gold Medalist Coach, however I have not coached or been a Gold Medalist. I have been a pretty good mountain bike cross country racer since I was 15 years old, and I have coached many riders who have ridden at a world class level and still work with some of the countries best cyclists.

My official title is Sport and Coaching Scientist, with physiology being my area of expertise, that is the knowledge of the workings of the human body. I am also a coach tutor and assessor, so I teach people how to be better coaches. So there you are, I hope this makes it a little more clear about what I do. You can read about my history here, http/www.pattersontraining.com.

Its great to hear you remember and write the correct coaching points for the skills training in your blog, that means that I have ensured learning so I'm real happy. What a great group of riders. See you all on Thursday>

  6. Hi Kaed. I think it's cool how you learnt those new biking stratigies for the berm and the track, and how Andrew came along to help.
Did Andrew know about angles when he was making the track or did he just make it?

  8. Excellent writing kaed!! That must of been a blast with a coach called Andrew Paterson. It sounds like you really enjoyed the skills section that you had. I love the bit in your writing when you tell the instructions how to brake the correct way. Who crashed at the biking skills section?
