Messages of Support for the All Blacks

Today in Literacy we wrote messages of support for the Rugby World Cup final against the Wallabies. We discussed the intended audience (the All Blacks, coaches and support staff), the message we wanted to get across and how to incorporate the writing technique of "Personal Voice."
Here are our messages of support:

Good luck All Blacks!
You can do it! We believe in you! Have fun, enjoy the time out there because you won’t have that experience for another 4 years. Even if you don’t win, You still got in the final and NZ will still be proud. You are a really good team now all you need to do is show it!
We will be watching on Sunday at 5am,  since it’s that early you need to win!
Shanelle and Michaela

To all of the All Blacks,
We hope you have a great game against Australia in the World Cup final. You’ve made it this far so you can waste the Ozzys in the final. We hope you six All Blacks have a great life after leaving the team. We think the score is going to be 28/9 to the ABs. Go the All Blacks!
Kind regards, Ethan and Ari.

To The Mighty All Blacks:
I have been watching some of the games but i really liked the game against France, the score blew me away. Richie Mccaw you are a good leader may you have a great last game. I wish all the luck to you guys and hope you win just like 4 years ago. I will be getting up in 5 in the morning to watch you guys win, i really enjoy watching rugby and seeing all you big tough guys getting nailed it makes me laugh. My favourite all black is Julian Savea he plays very well. The All Blacks are the best team in the world! and i mean it!
But If you can’t do it just keep on keep on keep on trying.
MAY THE ALL BLACKS SMASH THOSE AUSSIES.

We hope that you play like you did against France and smash the wallabies. Make New Zealand proud and win the world cup for your supporters. Make us proud.

Go the All Blacks hope you win the 2015 Rugby World Cup Final. We will be cheering for the team to win. Thrash those Wallabies. You can do it because you are the best team ever.
From Will and Daniel.

  1. Room 10, I am super impressed with your messages of good luck to the All Blacks. I hear and read so many 'GO THE A Bs' type statements which, in comparison with yours, show no personal voice or genuine advice, support and empathy.
A quick tweet, (which, realistically, is probably all they have time to read,) could never convey that amount of emotion.
Enjoy the game. I sure will, (not Lochie though. He gets most upset with me leaping about and shouting!)

  2. Hmmmmm - I have just spotted this on Shanelle's blog. Many of you have written a similar message. Who apart from you do you think this might apply to?

'What would be persistence, determination and resilience all in one word? Grit of course! Grit is about not giving up straight away when you don’t get it right, you need to persist when learning gets tough. To not get distracted and to stay focused! If you don’t persist you don’t get things done which means you won’t learn! Dedication pays off! Remember that.'

What word could you use to replace 'learn / learning' if you're thinking about the context that I am putting this into?
